Sex and the City Premeires and Fashion

Sex and the City 2 is in theatres and so is delight to all the fashionistas around the world. The Movie has made raves round the world and the girls have been stilettoing in London, NYC and now Japan, for promoting their movie.

Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis put on a stunning Fashion parade (ok not literally) on the red carpet in their designer dresses as they attended the champagne screening in Tokyo. And I must say, they were absolute stunners, looking beautiful than ever.

Among the four ladies, it was Kim Cattrall who stole the show in a beautiful Naeem Khan's gold creation and a sleek bob.
.

.

I have to say, among all the premieres, it was the Tokyo's where the SATC 2 ladies looked their best and surpassed all expectations.
.
Kristin Davis looked adorable, like always, in her yellow vintage Jean Patou haute couture Prom Dress by Christian Lacroix. Cynthia Nixon kept her look simple and sophisticated in a strapless Calvin Klein dress with asymmetrical hemline paired with high platform heels. She looked lovely.
.
Sarah Jessica Parker, well how could the lady stay up behind? She was in a 100 per cent Sex and the City get-up, wearing a show stopping floral multi-tiered Vivienne Westwood gown, accessorised with a statement necklace, Raven Kauffman Harlow belt, gold Alexander McQueen clutch and satin high heeled shoes in nude by Charlotte Olympia. Of the three premieres, this was her best attire.

.

.

.

SATC 2 brings in lots of bling, luxe and shine this season. So girls, its time for you to show the flamboyant side of you this season and the season next. Minimal chic is a passe. You need to leap your boundaries. Shine on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sex and the City 2 - Premiere

Finally the much awaited Sex and the City 2 would hit the cinemas this Thursday.

Till then, the pictures of the Sex and the City 2 Movie Premiere should contain the excitement. The SATC2 Premiere was presented by Mercedes-Benz And Maybach at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

Do SJP and Kristin Davis signal a new trend, i.e. Neon colours? Both the ladies were clad in neon hued gowns of neon green and neon pink respectively.

WHo looks best among the four? Kristin Davis was my favourite who was clad in Jean Desses silk chiffon pink gown.

Celebrity Watch - Stylish and Edgy

The celebs have gone edgier and more creative in their looks this season. The traditional dresses and gowns have been ditched in facour of something more stylish and fun. Let's look at some of the stylish Divas Looks that certainly calls for attention.

Sarah J Parker and Natalie Portman at NYC Ballet Spring Gala

While talking of style and edgy, Sarah Jessica Parker comes first on mind. One of the most risk taking celebs, in terms of style, and one of the most stylish women of the decade, SJP comes with yet another Stylish looks at the New York City Ballet Spring Gala. SJP donned a blush-colored, lace cocktail dress by Elie Saab Haute Couture teamed with L'Wren Scott deep turquoise jacket and coordinating clutch bag. An elegant updo and silver peep-toes completed this feminine evening look. Love the way she played with the colours.

Another celeb that matched SJP's stylish look at the gala was Natalie Portman in her red hot ensemble. She wore a red and blush coloured edgy Lanvin dress with gold crystal embellished belt detail. She co-ordinated the two-toned dress with an oversized black clutch and nude heels.

Eva Longoria Parker and Amanda Seyfried

At two different events Amanda Seyfried and Eva Longoria Paker flaunted their sexy figures in short dresses.

Eva Longoria Parker wore a short and sassy Robert Rodriguez ($495) one-shouldered blood orange dress as she stepped out in LA. She added the leg-lengthening nude shoes and carried a sleek black YSL clutch bag ($395). Her one-shouldered red number sure did wonders to her petite sexy frame.

Amanda Seyfried gave the Little Black Dress a new definition. She ditched the classic LBD for a more edgier choice at the gala screening of 'Dear John' at Odeon Kensington. Amanda wore a sexy LBD with a glittering front panel in hues of sea blue, green and purple. Black strappy heels and a slick of on-trend tomato-red lipstick completed her look.

Kate Winslet - the beauty in black

The always gorgeous Kate Winslet has been favouring black this season. At the Golden Globe Awards function, she wore a one shoulder black dress from Atelier Yves Saint Laurent that perfetly accentuated her perfect figure.

She highlighted the design's pearl and crystal embroidery with diamonds from Tiffany & Co and wore her hair in a chignon that looked just perfect with the dress. She looked every inch glamorous and classy.

.
How to create a chignon like Kate Winslet?
From her hair dresser: "I wanted Kate Winslet to look like a glamorous woman with a slightly undone style," said Frederic Fekkai celebrity hairstylist Renato Campora, who created the look. He mixed mousse with glossing cream to rough-up the hair, then set the entire head in pin curls. After the curls had set, he gathered all the hair at the back of the neck, set it with bobby pins, and added a touch of shine serum. The final touch? "I bent the ends with a one-inch curling iron to make them pretty," he said.
.
At the British Academy Film Awards 2010, Kate Winslet wore a sexy black Stella McCartney gown with Stella McCartney sandals and Tiffany & Co. jewelry. She showed off her svelte shape in a peek-a-boo gown with lace insets.

Colour Popping

Jennifer Garner attended the 12th Annual "I have a Dream" Foundation's Gospel Brunch in Los Angeles. Jennifer wore a brilliant fuchsia Dior minidress; she paired the dress with cork-soled wedges.

The French actress Audrey Tautou looked totally chic at the BAFTA Awards in London. Tautou wore a lovely cocktail-length coral Lanvin dress, which she accessorized with pops of red: lipstick, pumps and clutch included. The red looked lovely with the dress, loving this shade of red.

.

.
Doing the Bling

Kate Hudson attended the Burberry Prorsum 2010 Autumn/Winter fashion show during London Fashion Week clad in a Buberry Prorsum emerald mini dress and shoes from the same designer house.

At the show, Kate stole the spotlight in an ultra-short sequined green design. She wore sky high black platform heels with the dress and paired a chunky ring in black.
.
.
.
Taking shimmer tip from Kate: When wearing shimmer all over, take a tip from Hudson and add chunky accessories in a neutral hue that would add glam to the dress at the same time tone down the shimmer.
.
At the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards in California, Taylor Swift had heads turned when she arrived in a sequinned blue off-the-shoulder sparkly gown by Kaufman Franco. Her sheath dress fitted impeccably ang her hair and makeup were a perfection. Authentic as usual. She did an updo style with wavy hair, her signature (she later opened her hair that looked equally lovely).

She accessorised her down with diamond bracelets, diamond teardrop danglers and matching blue sandals. Totally loved her long dropped diamond earrings. She looks fab!
.
.
.
Glowing in Gold was none other than the fashion forward Sarah Jessica Parker at the Halston Fashion Show in NYC. Ms Parker led the Fashion Week in a pleated gold top by Halston and cropped black pants. For accessories, she added extra shine via a sparkling statement necklace, structured thorn clutch by Cassandra LA (love the clutch, isn't it gorgeous?), and Prada studded sandals. Chain wrap bracelets and a square-cut ring complete her fashion fire.

Despite going on too much on accesories on a gold top, the black pants and sandals perfectly added the just required balance to the blingy look. While leaving the show, Sarah wore a pretty pink and bloe brocade jacket.

Get Sarah Jessica Parker's look by adding eye-popping jewelry to a metallic blouse—just pair with a pencil skirt or slim trousers for an understated finish.

Anne Hathaway glowed in a sequined bronze Vivienne Westwood dress at the Alice in Wonderland London Premiere. She paired her dress with gold heels and red nails. She was every inch the siren in a figure-flaunting bustier dress glowing in gold.

2010 Party Trend

December is the month to party, to celebrate the festive season, the year gone by and the new year that will start soon.

For this party season, look from within this season's trends: colour tones from black tones to bright pinks to metallic greys, shine and bling, short and mini dresses, classic sheath, metallics, one-shouldered dresses and tops, super high platform heels (Victoria Beckham's style), animal prints, sequins and a key accessory piece.

No matter what you wear, make sure to use your girl power: frills, ruffles (Moschino), sheer fabrics (Givenchy), high neckline and beautifully draped sleeves. And emphasise the hourglass shape, i.e. focus on the waist while making your shoulders and hips look wider.

What to wear winter 2009-2010 party season?

Black

Balck is the party colour this season (has always been though) but this season it is the top colour in colour palette of every designer - they have used at least one outfit in black.

Little black dresses are the best bet, but not only staples they have a trendy twist. Pick one with one-shoulder or go strapless with embellishments or some bling.

We like Demi Moore's classic single-shoulder RM by Roland Mouret dress that she wore with peep-toe pumps at the L.A. launch of Roland Mouret's exclusive Rainbow Collection for Net-a-Porter.

Don't want to go all black?
This season, dresses in two or more colours are hot, the combined look of two colurs looks fresh and stylish. This colour blocking trend has been with us for two seasons and hasn't lost its popularity.

Colour block black with the shades of red, white, metallics or even pastels. Natalia Vodianova wore a satin peach and black colour blocked dress during the Louis Vuitton Pret a Porter show as part of the Paris Womenswear Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2010. This style would make heads turn to you, feminine, sophisticatd and sexy, it certainly is the way to party.

Bright Pink

One of the hottest colours and must have of this Fall and Winter 2009/2010 is Bright Pink. The various shades of pink were everywhere in the winter 2009/2010 and is a great pick for your party wear.
.
Party in pink, the colour is feminine, sexy and fun and would create a bold and fashionable you. Choose from brights to deep pinks, close to fuchsia tone.

How to wear?
Pink can always be combined with other colors, like black, gray, and cream and also with neon palette.

A bright pink shift dress is a smart pick, you can wear it with a jacket in the day and for the night, just take off the jacket, and some accessories and you are ready to party.

We like the way Hilary Duff paired her Bright Pink sheath dress with a black jacket, look great on her. Paired with the nude shoes, she looks taller and sexier.
.

.
You can also accessorise with the bright pink colour to glam up your look this party season. Turn heads with a scarf, handbag, shoes or another accessory. Team your LBD with a pair of hot pink heels - grey is another glam colour for this party season and goes well with pink.

One Shouldered or Asymmetric Necklines

From single-shouldered dresses to tops and bikinis, asymmetric shoulder-lines have been one of the most raved about trends for the 2009 and are popular this party season too.

Showing off one-shoulder in a dress can be subtly sexy and interesting on the eye, and the possibilities for how to wear it are numerous. You can pick a sexy one-shouldered dress, or choose a smart one-shouldered top and pair it with slim fit jeans, high heeled shoes and chunky earrings.

For a dress, you can choose from a simple and even have a casual look or can go for a feminine and sophisticated style, or something more flirty and sexy, a style perfect for party wear.

High on the thigh

This season, the emphasis is all on your toned legs, not the cleavage. Super short dresses are THE THING to wear this party season. From Gwen Stefani, Naomi Campbell to Heidi Klum, all are sporting this trend. There are lots of girls who love short skirts. So cheers ladies and get excited, this is your time to wear those sexy skirts (see Jessica Stroup below) and hit the party circuit flaunting those gorgeous short pieces!

You can go short with high hemline, like Gwen Stefani in the black number, or can choose to show your neck like Sarah Jessica Parker in her L'Wren Scott jacquard minidress.
.

.

Jessica Stroup at Golden Globes Awards (left) and with AnnaLynne McCord at GQ Bash

And the best way to wear them? With thigh high or over-the-knee boots.

2. Makeup trend for this party season

A good make-up can really turn heads, so make sure to pay special attention to you makeup this party season. From the make-up trends, matt skin is really popular this winter. Shiny is out, go for pale skin with natural tints, rosy cheeks (pink, pink-blue, peach to natural-tan hues). Make sure you match your blush with either your eyes or your lips.

Your lips should look tender and innocent. Winter 2009-2010 lip color palette range from slightly pink, violet, fuchsia to extremely pale, almost skin-fitting-hue.

Steer away from lip glosses or shiny lips. If you choose to go red on lips, keep the rest of the look simple and team it with colourless eyes. Go red in Gwen Stefani way.

Eyes are the most important part of this season make up trend. There’ll be two extremes for the eyes: smoky-smoky and almost naked ones. Bright colors fit paleness. And this season, keep aside your fake lashes, emphasis is more on the eye shadows then the long lashes. Compensate the lashes with shaded dark pencil at the out corner of the eye line. Thick black and brown eyebrows are in this winter 2009-2010, as they brightly contour the eye shadow.

Sex and the City 2 - Trend Watch

Carrie Bradshaw and her girl pals are back with the sequel of SATC - Sex and the City II. Filming for the movie SATC II officially began on 1st September 2009, and I am sure all the fashionistas and SATC fans around the globe would love these first shots of Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah JessicaParer), Miranda Hobbs (Cynthia Nixon), Charlotte York (Kristin Davis) and Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall) out and about NYC.
.
Are you excited to see the gang back together? Read on.....
.

.

Girls Together
.
What are the four lovely ladies wearing?

A newly single Samantha looked sexy in a cutout LBD, VBH Palm clutch in shocking mastice drip python (worth $1300), gold hoop earrings and black Ray Ban shades (she could have done better in the shoes department).

Miranda looked lovely in an asymmetrical neckline mustard dress cinched with tan belt, that complemented her red hair, and Yves Saint Laurent Triumph platforms (they cost $795).

The always gorgeous Charlotte was pretty in pink - a pink skirt suit, matching satchel (all Dior) and dead gorgeous white and pink Louboutin slingbacks.

And the leading lady, SJP, wore a Halston Heritage white dress, gold and metal Chanel clutch and glittering leopard print Louboutins.
.

.
Who do you like the best?
My vote goes to Miranda.
.

The first shot

The first photos of Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) filming scenes for the Sex and The City sequel on location in New York City and we must say, we're quite impressed.
.

Sarah Jessica Parker - first shot

.
SJP looked every bit the fashionista in her first shot of SATC II where she was wearing a gorgeous V-neck white Halston Heritage dress which she accessorised with colurful jeweled Solange Azagury-Partridge necklace. She added gold sparkling tuches to her simple white dress with Mykita & Bernhard Wilhelm shades, a lovely gold and metal Chanel clutch and sky-high Christian Louboutin sparkling gold pigalle heels.
.

.
For all those who are thinking that the SATC II revolves around the recession hit Carrie and Big, think again. Not only is Carrie wearing those amazing Louboutins and Chanel clutch that cost a bomb, the Solange Azagury-Partridge necklace she adorned is worth $198,200. Not exactly recession-friendly, is it?

.
Super High Heels and Oversized Bags

The heels and the bags just get higher and bigger in the Sex and the City II.
.

.
In this shot, Sarah Jessica Parker's Carrie Bradshaw rocked a knotted plaid shirt (showing off her midriff) paired with skinny cropped jeans (with zippers at the ankle), a lime green wrist band, an oversized bag in grey and a $835 Brian Atwood Loca studded fierce heels in purple. Do you like her shoes?

While Carrie sported a causal look, Miranda looked fab in striped dress (love the colour of her dress) that she accessorised with a long matching necklace, an oversized brown tote with orange handles and matching studded high heeled strappy sandals. I would say my vote among the two ladies goes to Miranda again.

I am totally lusting Miranda's bag.

Style in Colour and Louboutin

SATC 2 replaces Manolo Blahniks with Christian Louboutins. SJP aka Carrie is Louboutin loaded in the new Sex and the City movie. And looks like, colours are in full rage in their new wardrobes. We've seen purple, green, mustard and pink earlier.
.
In another shot, Carrie is sporting four different colours in one ensemble. Carrie Bradshaw stepped out on the streets of NYC rocking a sparkly purple Halston Heritage cocktail dress, which she paired with with the Christian Louboutin Gino T-strap heels (in yellow, black and gold), Christian Louboutin's large Sylvia hobo bag in pink and Jee Vice’s Heated orange shades and a silver floral pendant necklace and a chunky silver bracelet.

Is that a colour overdose or the new twist to the popular colour blocking trend?

While Carrie sported all colourful look, Miranda chose to colour herself in fuchsia pink for two different scenes in the movie Sex and the City II.

Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) is wearing a fuchsia pink cowl neck top, which she paired with a tan jacket and white jeans. Love the fuchsia and white combo. From what looks like, she is wearing blue trainers with the pants and carrying a red bag. In another shot, she is clad head-to-toe in a hot pink ensemble, wearing a lovely Roland Mouret crepe dress with matching Christian Louboutin heels. Even her blackberry cover is matching her outfit.

Girls, hot pink is going to be the new hot colour for the coming season. We had earlier seen even Charlotte (Kristin Davis) wearing all pink in one of the first shots of the movie. Pink shoes, pink bag, pink dress - it does look good.

Sarah Jessica Parker wearing the same backless Christian Dior's newspaper-print dress for SATC sequel that she had worn during Season 3 of Sex and the City (when she apologized to Natasha for wrecking her marriage with Big).

In the movie, she paired the sexy backless number with super high Louboutin lace booties, which can be spotted from a mile away from their trademark heels. Its the second time she is wearing another sparkling shoes from Louboutin in the movie.

Is this start of a new trend, glittery shoes?

Colour me Green (purple...pink)
.

Sarah Jessica Parker and Kristin Davis wore green dresses during the movie Sex and the City 2.

SJP sported a green upside down tree dress that she teamed with a contrast blue and pink colour block clutch and black, blue grey shoes. The accessories contrast way too much with the dress to like. Does not go well. You like?

She's wearing the same star pendant that she was spotted in earlier.

White SJP choose to go with a contrast look, Kristin was all matchy-matchy in green with a monochromatic look. Kristin wore a gorgeous ruffled green dress that she matched with suede green pointed pumps and a green tote. Although its definitely a green overdose, but she still looks pretty.

While Carry and Charlotte made their statement in green, Samantha looked smoking hot in purple halter. She completed her purple dress with a thick gold and turquoise blue belt cinched at waist, huge statement earrings and purple rimmed shades. She wore wodden clogs in purple to go with her attire. She was seen wearing the same shoes earlier in the movie shots, but in cream.
