to fring your hair

Rachel Bilson took the plunge and ended up with these long blunt cut bangs. It’s a great look for any forehead shape but a lifesaver for those with a higher hairline! For best results, you should have relatively thick hair. If not, these bangs will look out of balance with the rest of your style. The chestnut color with subtle highlighting makes her hair look super healthy and rich. Toss in some longer layers, large waves and some shine serum and you’ve got amazing celeb hair! With smoky eyes and light gloss on the lips, she doesn’t need much to look polished.

So who can pull this style off? Most face shapes will work with this longer style. It’s sort of a mysterious girl-next-door look and is a fresh hot style for spring. Stay away from bulky bangs if you have really fine or stringy hair. And if you aren’t sure how you will look with the style and want to try it with less risk, upload your pic to a virtual hairstyles program. That way you can see how it will look before you go in and have it done!

To get Rachel’s style, use mousse after washing your hair, dry most of the way then section hair off and finish drying hair in sections around a large round brush. Make sure to blow from roots to ends, holding the blow dryer above the head. Once hair is dry, shake out the curls, separate a little with your fingers, then use a little pomade to pull through the ends for that extra shine.

Camilla Belle has the most luxurious hair! Hair like this needs a lot of love. Not only taking the time to style it right, but using products that protect and nourish it. Camilla’s stlye is basic: long blunt cut in back and long blunt cut bangs. It’s perfect for her face shape and overall personal style. The deep rich brown color is unbelievably shiny and healthy looking. This celeb doesn’t need a lot of makeup to look her best. Exotic eyes and eyebrows with a little gloss on the lips and some bronzer. Fantastic!
camilla belle fringe
So how do you get this stlye? Use high end shampoo and conditioner, to start. To get the best shine, let hair air dry then apply a silicone-based serum. If your hair isn’t perfectly straight, run through the strands with a ceramic flat iron. To complete the style, use a hair shine or gloss product. It’s a great style for most face shapes, so if you’ve got great straight hair then you can’t lose. The style is lower maintenance for those with naturally straight hair than for those with curly hair, but if you don’t mind the extra work then curly haired girls can do it too!

Christina Ricci went for a little shorter version of spring’s hottest new trend. Her blunt cut bangs hit right at her eyebrows and make her face look sweet! Her dark honey-colored locks in loose vibrant curls combined with the fringe are just right for her face shape. Will it work for you? Probably. Again, you need to have a decent amount of hair (or some great extensions!) to pull off the bangs.
ricci fringe

To get the style: after washing and conditioning with nutrient enriched products, apply styling mousse or cream and blow mostly dry. When hair is just barely damp, insert medium to large Velcro rollers and blow dry the rest of the way. Separate curls with fingers after removing the rollers. To get the bangs right, use a large round brush. The volume is all in the curls and not in the roots, so you don’t have to tease hair at all. Spray the finished style with finishing spray and some shine serum or spray. Keep the makeup simple and the eyes smoky, and you will have Miss Ricci’s red-carpet look.

to fring your hair or not fring hair

2006-red-fringe Square-shape face: a long fringe, with so called “little claws” will add volume to your face. To get sweeter features, ask your hairstylist to cut your hair in stairs.

Oval face: you are a lucky one, but I guess you already knew that. You can choose any type of fringe you want. It can be an asymmetrical one, long fringe, short fringe, no matter the size or “weight” It can be a full straight fringe or you can choose a side-fringe.

severe-short-heavy-fringe-bang Heart-shape face: you need to search for the perfect fringe that will milder your jaw line. The heart-shape face has a prominent jaw line, and you need to opt for a thick straight fringe, right under your eyebrows line.

Round shape face: because you will always look younger than you really are, and you can experience the “chubby face” childhood “syndrome” all your life, we recommend a soft medium-long fringe, but stay away from the side fringes! Opt for a full fringe.
Different types of fringe:

* Straight cut fringe – it is cut just below the eyebrows, in straight line from one temple to another. img-thing
* Lost in a part, side fringe – starting from the hair path to one side and another, the fringe is long, it is covering almost half of your forehead and it has a stairs cut.
* ”Claws” fringe- is a modified version of blunt, straight cut fringe, in this case the hair stripes strand separated from each other, like little “claws” that cover the forehead.
* Asymmetric - this fringe can be a work of art, and may have different lengths and shapes, the only rule is that irregular hairstyle lines.

Closely related to the CWC (that is, condition-wash-condition), the CO wash is something that I do on an almost weekly basis. CO simply stands for ‘conditioner only’, and it means exactly that: skipping the usual shampoo and going straight to the conditioner. It may sound strange but there’s method to this madness: first of all, it gives my hair an often much-needed conditioning boost, and second of all, it provides a quick clean without the need for a proper shampoo.

Gorgeous hair
Maintain your hair's vitality by not over-washing it.

But how can a conditioner clean the hair? It’s a fair question, and the answer is in a chemical analysis of the conditioner’s content. You see, most conditioners actually contain enough cleansing properties – or surfactants – to give the hair a decent clean, without needing the much harsher cleansers found within your average shampoo. While you wouldn’t want to give up shampooing completely, you can easily substitute it with a CO wash every two to three washes and still have glossy, clean hair. Simply use the conditioner as you would a shampoo - massage it into your scalp, run the product through to the ends of your hair with your hands, and rinse well.

The main benefit of the CO wash is reducing the frequency of your shampooing, without having your scalp become oily. I find that it’s the ideal wash for when I need to put my hair up in a style that requires second-day hair: the CO wash allows for extra manageability, while still looking as though it’s been freshly shampooed and conditioned. Give it a go sometime and see how it works for you. If your hair’s anything like mine (long, with a tendency to be dry), you may just find that the CO wash becomes a regular and valued part of your hair care routine.

By Sharon Stajda

Without a doubt, hair is the most important changeable feature we have.

Today's woman is very fortunate. We live in a time when no one hairstyle is considered the fashion of the day. Hairdos today run the gamut of possibility. They do's that fill our magazine pages, and the rules that once ran our thinking about hair have become increasingly passe. We no longer consider it an unshakable truth that a face to be beautiful must be oval, and that all hairstyles should try to create that effect.

It is no longer an indisputable error for a girl with a long face to wear long hair. Furthermore, a girl with strong features may choose a hairstyle to bring out the character of her face, not to hide it.

Movies are filled with beautiful women who accentuate their originality, rather than minimize it. Furthermore, the top, most highly paid models are hired to sell fabulously priced clothes because of their offbeat looks. Which they stress in the way they wear their hair.

This world, had grown so much smaller in these last years, has made us very conscious of our once foreign neighbors. Our new sophistication has broadened our ideas of beauty as well. We no longer laugh at differences or think them peculiar. We can see loveliness in a Chinese girl, in an Indian girl, in an African girl, and appreciate their brand of beauty, along with our own. Our hairstyles have become supra-national to. We've borrowed them from every corner of the world.

Moreover, yes- at the same time much of the world has to some degree Americanized their own ways of wearing their hair. However, while we in the U.S.A. continue to want our hairdos to be modern in the sense that they should fit in with the quick busy lives. At the same time, we also want them to be feminine, classic and romantic.

Without a doubt, hair is the most important changeable feature we have. Every Hollywood make-up department considers finding the right hairstyle for a star or an actress their number one task. Hair can do an enormous amount for you-not only for your face, but for all of you. The way you wear your hair can make you look taller, or shorter. A hairstyle can de-emphasize a too bosomy bosom, can call attention to a swan-like neck or distract the eye from a too-short neck, can add length to the waist, can balance narrow shoulders. And so on...So let's explore how one goes about getting the perfect head of hair.

If you want to instantly create a fresh new look for your tresses, consider adding a new hair fringe skillfully carved out along the perimeter of your face line.

Whether you select a fringe that is side-swept, crafted into sensuous layers, shattered for an edgy look or worn blunt, it will instantly transform your face and your current overall hairstyle.

In the United States, our name for this frontal section of hair that extends onto the face from the hairline is known as "bangs". In Europe it is called the "fringe".

Regardless of whether you refer to it as a fringe or bangs, the hair style has cycled in and out of popularity for many years. Certainly it will continue to be a desired hairstyle option for many more years to come.

Why does fringe fever rise and fall? Part of the cause can be directly linked to the fashion world. The other reason is the fabulous way a hot new fringe can create an instant hair makeover.

Although they can be annoying to grow out, the key point to note is all fringes are indeed temporary unless you continue to trim them. The only hair textures which are not easily compatible with a frontal fringe is naturally curly and wavy hair. For any other hair type or textures you can select a fringe in just about any length, style or design.

Many hair experts advise selecting a hair fringe based on face shape. While I tend to agree that it is helpful to consider face shape when selecting a fringe, be willing to select a style which resonates with your personality and desires. All hair rules are made to be broken as long as you select styles which make you feel beautiful.

Listed below are some specific tips on the best type of fringe for you based on your face.

Oval Face

Yes, the oval face is considered by many to be the ideal shape. While many different fringe styles will work will with your face shape, depending on the overall hairstyle you wish to support, not all fringes will offer the same advantages.

Since bangs are often added to help camouflage a variety of facial sins, consider what facial features you wish to maximize when selecting your fringe style.

Round Face

In general, fringe guidelines for round face shapes indicate the need to avoid any styles which accentuate the roundness of your face. An overly wide blunt fringe will make your face appear much rounder.

If you wish for your fringe to provide instant slenderizing for your face, select a tousled side-swept style which cascades down over your cheeks, providing instant minimization of roundness. Avoid a fringe which are worn in a straight line across the forehead which will maximize full cheeks.

Texturized fringes or those cut longer on the side and shorted in the middle will instantly give the illusion of lengthening the face.

Bangs And Fringes are back as the mane event in hair styles, and in many cases they are the mane attraction. We love bangs And Fringes again and this time around we know how to use choose and style them.

You would have to return to the 1980's to see the last time that bangs and fringes played such an important role in hair style trends. At that time the style to wear was the mall bang.

If our ozone layer is in trouble today, it may be due to the volumes of hair spray used that year to create the mall bang and keep it all day.

This style was big and it was high, none gave a thought if it was right for their face shape or hair texture. In 1980 we were influenced by Princess Diana, Madonna, and Dallas on our TV. What could have possibly come out of that melting pot but the mall bang? The new bang or fringe is now personal and delivers all the options we need. This time you choose your style of bang or fringe by face shape, mood, and lifestyle.

Bangs And Fringes Hair Styles Gallery
Who is wearing Bangs and fringes?

Everybody, bangs and fringes have been picked up by the pop stars, film stars, runway models, celebrities, and the girl next door.

Adding bangs to your style is the fastest way to update your style and to add some sexy to your tresses. The true beauty of our new trend is that overall major and dramatic changes do not need to take place. If you have medium length hair, long hair, or long long hair, simply restyling the bang area with long piecy layers sliced in or with the blunt style that just skims the eyes that the trend setters are wearing is enough.

You keep all of your length but add a fresh new look to your style, this year a style that is all one length looks a little dated and in need of a pick me up. Face shape and facial features are flattered by a soft framing of hair, and there is a bang or fringe style for every face type, hair texture, and condition.

Bangs And Fringes Hair Styles Gallery
Selecting Your Proper Bang Or Fringe Style

Using bangs and fringes gives you the opportunity to camouflage or enhance your facial features. You can add definition to your face shape in much the same way you can apply blush to either accentuate or play down facial features.. These are basic suggestions and your stylist can modify any of the styles to suit your unique needs. Work with your stylist to create the best bang for your new look.

Selecting your bang or fringe style is as easy as knowing your face shape, this is stressed on all of the related hair styling pages at Beauty And The Bath. It truly is your key element in choosing styles that will look great on you and that you will be happy with. If you do not know your face shape, we can help you with that here.
Face Shape

Your secondary factors for choosing will be your hair texture and condition, the amount of time and skill you have for styling, and finally the mood you want to create. Variations of chopped layers and pieces, shattered lengths, shagged pieces, panel strands, asymmetrical angles, blunt cuts, and wisps can be skillfully cut by a stylist to create a new person for your style.

Choose your mood, soft and romantic, trendy and fast, funky and out there, or sexy and sexier. You can also just add enough bang on a more conservative side and still have a up to the minute hot look. This new bang and fringe is so much about customizing, choose your elements, adding color in the form of colored tips, partial color panels, soft lowlight effects or stronger high lights, streaks or the new Mocha Latte effects.

Adding color to your bangs can be a great preliminary step for you if you have never had any form of color added to your hair. You are treating a relatively small area that will grow out fast if you are not happy with it. You can now easily add any texture you want to only your bangs or fringe and you do not have to do the rest of your hair. Take advantage of the new perm technology or the new Japanese straightening treatment.

For fine hair a soft body wave perm can be added to only the bangs area to create volume and height. For curly hair Thermal hair relaxing {Japanese Hair Straightening} is the only way to go if you want permanent results and low maintenance. It is so much more gentle on your hair than the reverse perms or or the other chemical relaxers of the past.

View the variations of bangs and fringes in this gallery for inspiration and remember, properly cut bangs have older women appearing younger! These shaggy bangs go great with shag hairstyles or messy bobs and are just a little edgy, but not over the to

to fringe your hair or not to fringe

For any individual who is looking for an edgy look a fringe hairstyle is a great option. Fringe hairstyles are centered on the cutting of the bangs. Ladies can create various looks by changing up their bangs.

Fringe Hair is in!

Popular Fringe Hair

Many hairstyles now feature blunt cut bangs. The great thing about fringe hairstyles is that they are perfect for long, short, and medium hair. There is no certain hairstyle that ladies have to follow. Blunt cut bangs are worn straight and sleek and the rest of the hair can be work straight or slightly wavy or curly. Some ladies may want to add a few layers around the face to complete the hairstyle. Even the popular bob hairstyle can have blunt cut bangs for a different look.

Side Swept Fringe

Side Swept Fringe

Side swept bangs are popular for many hairstyles. Even many of the very short hairstyles that are very short and spiky in the back contain side swept bangs to help frame the face. Fringe hairstyles can also help to hide trouble spots such as large or protruding foreheads. Fringe hairstyles are extremely popular and many celebrities have found great success with the styles. Fringe hairstyles are very modern and ladies can also pin their hair up when necessary for another look

to fringe your hair or not to fringe

To Fringe your hair or not to Fringe?

There are no hard and fast rules about hair type or face shape: some people simply do not suit fringes (bangs). It's a very personal thing. If you are thinking of having a fringe but are not sure if it will suit you, or if you fancy a fringe but don't want anything permanent which you will then have to grow out (a big bore), try faking it. It sounds unlikely but it does work!

How Fake a Fringe Hairstyle?

1. Take a section of hair from the crown comb it forwards over your forehead and arrange it as you would a fringe.

Fake a Fringe2. If you have got long hair, twist it to take away the length before taking it forwards. Adjust the width, length and density as required, then clip it securely just above the crown using a large grip. Alternatively, ask your hairstylist to attach a hairpiece.

3. Leave your false fringe for 20 minutes to get used to it before deciding whether it suits you.

Getting a Permanent Fringe into your Hair

Even the most dramatic changes lose their impact after a time, so the trick is to reinvent your look regularly to avoid getting stuck in a style rut. Think how differently Madonna looks at 40 compared with how she looked in her twenties. Many feel she looks younger now. True to type, she has grown her hair and left it long at the age when most women feel they have to go short. Luckily, hair does grow and any change in hair color or hairstyle will pass over the time. Be brave and enjoy the positive power of transformation that a radical fringe hairstyle change can bring.

Old hairstyles from the golden days of Hollywood have become popular unique looks for those women who can pull them off. The retro looks give a very different look but not everyone is going to be able to pull these hairstyles off. These old Hollywood glam hairstyles are more for those already in the limelight and for special events like costume parties and other activities where bringing back a beautiful part of history is just right. Most of the hairstyles from past days of Hollywood glory have unique features that are set in place. Stars like Audrey Hepburn, Betty Grable, and Ingrid Bergman all featured unique hairstyles from their days. There are still some stars today that have captured these hairstyles.

Dita Von Teese's Hairstyle
The symbol of old Hollywood glam is represented more by Dita Von Teese than anybody else because she has the complete look from hair to makeup. She has styled her hair in several unique styles that were popular in the old Hollywood days and in this photo her hair is styled with the big inward curls. The hair is lifted up at the front with an off-center part and her makeup also matches the hairstyle.
Christina Aguilera's Hairstyle
Christina Aguilera has shown a lot of versatility by starting off with the cute pop girl look, transforming into the wild and sexy diva, and then to the old Hollywood glam style. She has looked beautiful through each transformation and in this picture shows a little twist of the look. She can be seen with better hairstyles that fit the Hollywood glam looks of past actresses but this one adds her own flair. The swept and curled front locks combine well with the extreme curls in the back that are arranged on both sides. This hairstyle is another combination creation.
Scarlett Johansson's Hairstyles
Scarlett Johansson has shown many different hairstyles and has looked ravishing in almost every single one. She shows that her facial features fit well with many different looks by donning this old Hollywood hairstyle. The hairstyle features a sweep and curl to one side with the longer locks curled up to just above the shoulders and the rest tied back. The hairstyle opens up the facial area and many people can actually pull this look off but take a tip from Scarlett and match with an accessory like the large pearl necklace.
Marilyn Monroe's Hairstyle
One of the most mimicked hairstyle from the past has to be Marilyn Monroe's short, curly hairstyle which many people have copied for many events. Her hairstyle will always be a part of history and will continually be remembered as a part of the era. Many stars have used the hairstyles in their own photoshoots and the following 2 are great examples of her hairstyles.

The hairstyle features a sweep and curl to one side with the longer locks curled up to just above the shoulders and the rest tied back. The hairstyle opens up the facial area and many people can actually pull this look off but take a tip from Scarlett and match with an accessory like the large pearl necklace.

Modern Hairstyles

Modern hairstyles, always have some connection to the old. Most of them are throw backs to the trendy fashions of yesterday. Whether from the 40's, 50's or 60's, most of the popular modern hairstyles, of today didn't originate that way. The beautiful thing about the present it that these hairstyles, may have been adopted from long ago. But they definitely have a current spin on them, that makes them the rave of the fashion world.

Short pixie cuts are giving many women a new modern lease on life.

The popular modern hairstyles of today, include the pixie cut. These styles are being worn by women of all nationalities. The first effect of this style, is the obvious youthful appearance it presents. Women instantly look years younger, just from incorporating one style.

The pixie can be a short choppy style of hair cut, or a nearly shaved head. It can be done with spikes or even a layered cut. The choice is your, and depends upon what you like specifically. Some women truly want if all cut off. Others want some room to transform this style, week by week.

There are many short modern hairstyles to choose from.

The pixie cut, although popular, is not the only short style hitting the streets. A familiar one is short in the back, and long in the front. Women typically sport this cut with a lifted layered back style. Then the front is either layered or straight. This hair cut is very versatile. It can be worn by those with curly or wavy hair. Most often, you see ladies with straight hair wearing this style.

Some times they incorporate layered wisps in the front, or even a middle part. These various spins on the style, are straight from the fashion pages. This is another type of style that really accentuates the face. It also has that hint of youthful, exuberance.

The young set have their own trend of modern hairstyles.

The emo is one of these popular hairstyles. Deja vu anyone? This style looks like we've stepped back into the mid 80's. It is hugely influenced by the whole punk rock phase. In this style we see a little European class, mixed with the rock theme. It can be as spiked or as short as you want.

The signature component to the emo, is the long swept bang in the front. This bang is swooped around the forehead on either side. The opposite side is traditionally short and designed in a funky way. Some choose to wear this style as short as possible, while others prefer the tailored look. Another spin on this is using the sideburns to completely comb the face.

This style is worn just as much by guys, as it is worn by girls. It is definitely a style that allows for originality. It can be tailored to fit your specific style and taste. This is definitely a fashion statement. It can be worn to simply hang out, or to even another classier event.
